Huawei Model DN372T System Start up Error

Hello,
Our youview box on startup goes to "Maintenance Mode", with a message "system start up error [501] " 

"Your box failed to start properly".

"The box will now enter Maintenance mode, where you can select a recovery operation"

 

I have gone through all the options available without success, downloading and installing software. It looks like it is going to start but then it goes through the wakeup and startup, screens and then fails with system start up error. I have tried every suggestion here without success.

 

I have also done this:

1. Ensure the YouView Box is switched off and is currently connected to the router (the YouView Box will require an internet connection).
2. Power on YouView using button at the back of YouView Box.
3. Start YouView using the power button on the YouView Box front panel, and then quickly press and hold both the + and – buttons on the front panel. If you haven’t pressed the buttons together by the time “YouView Waking Up” is displayed, or you see the “YouView please wait…” message then try again.
4. Let go of the + and – buttons once the “Huawei – Maintenance Mode menu” is displayed.
5. The + and – buttons on the front panel will navigate the menu. Keep pressing the – button until “Internet/USB Recovery, keep recordings” option is highlighted. If you go past the option, simply press the + button to navigate back to the option.
6. Press the power button on the YouView Box front panel to select the option. This will bring up some information and ask “Do you want to proceed?”. Press the power button again to confirm.
7. The YouView Box will now show a progress bar as it downloads software from the internet and installs on the YouView Box. This may take several minutes. Once complete, the YouView Box will restart.
8. Once the YouView Box restarts, the YouView Box will show the initial setup wizard. You will need to run through the setup wizard including tunning the channels.

 

I have also spoken to a lady (in India I believe), who told me that my error code doesn't exist as there are no letters before the number in the error code, so she informed me that it must therefore be my television that has the problem - despite the fact that it is a Huawei error code from the YouView box and that our TV works completely normally.  A 40 minute phone call that resulted in being cut off and no answers.

I am unable to watch any of the boosts channels, I currently have the Entertainment boost. The picture is pixelated and the internet is very eratic especially in the evening.

Can somebody look into this as it's an on going problem, i have posted on here and spoke to customer services who haven't helped at all.
 

Internet channels not working

Hi my internet channels are not working, I have had talktalk since November 2016 and the Internet channels have never worked, I have called a number of times but it has still not been resolved, on demand works but not live. Also when the you view box is turned on it kills the Internet. Please help!!!!

DN372T - Playback of recordings fault

Recently (approx once a week) while watching Freeview HD recordings, partway into the programme, the picture and sound suddenly stops and the screen goes black.

 

Without my pressing any buttons on the remote and after about 15 seconds the box returns to 'live' tv overlaid with the YouView main menu.

 

If I then re-select My TV and the recorded programme I had been watching, it resumes from the point it had cut out, and the recording plays back normally until the end of the recording.

 

This has been happening for some weeks now.  I today reported it to Technical Support via phone and a Maintenance Mode procedure was recommended.   I performed the Maintenance Mode procedure (delete recordings) but the problem has reoccurred with a fresh recording made today.

 

As this issue is now getting really tedious, is there anything else you can suggest or does the box need to be replaced?  Many thanks.

 

Router keeps restarting when watching Sky Go on PS4

Hi, my router keeps restarting everytime I watch Sky Go on my PS4. It'll work for a minute or two, then the internet will completely restart. I'm having no issues streaming any other video, and it doesn't randomly restart any other time, only when I'm watching Sky Go on PS4.

 

The problem I have is that I live in a shared flat and the internet is in the landlord's name I presume, but I've never met him and have only ever had dealings with the estate agent. Because of this, I have no account details or landline number etc. I'd be able to provide.

Problem with Aerial Port

I've just unplugged my previous box which was working perfectly regarding my aerial channels and players and plugged my new box in which arrived today and the box can't tune in any channels. I've searched for previous questions regarding this and as the menu's changed since the advice people were given regarding settings-device management-RF loop through etc and the help section hasn't been updated yet to reflect the new box layout, I'm lost as to what to do. Under Picture & Sound I've changed the antenna out to 'on' and turned the box on and off (and turned my aerial booster on and off) but the box still can't tune any channels in. I've previously used talktalk boxes and my last one was BT and I didn't have any aerial issues at all with either. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

 

Advice on TalkTalk TV (Considering cancelling Sky)

Hi,

I have been considering cancelling my Sky TV package for ages.

I would like some feedback as to whether the user experience is as good with TalkTalk Plus TV (I do quite like the Sky TV Box, and it works well) - It is quite a big decision if I am not fully happy with it - considering the length of a new contract.

Also, I see TalkTalk TV 2 Beta trials mentioned, but is this now the latest version for everyone with TT TV? 

I havent seen any pictures, or video demos of the user interface. I would love to actually see what I might be buying first?

Pixelated tv on internet channels

Hi,

l have power line adaptors that are working fine with all green lights but for the last 4 days all internet channels are pixelated. Have turned off router, reset power lines. Have upgraded to faster fibre.

please help

I have been with Talk Talk for 10 months now and from more or less day 1 I have noticed a problem with red pixel lines all along the bottom of my tv.

As the months have gone on, I just assumed I need a new TV and that as soon as money allows I would get one. However, we played a DVD from the Playstation for the first time last week and the TV was absolutely clear. No lines whatsoever. So we now assume it's the box and not the TV? It gets worse the longer the box is on.

Hi, my mum has had a talk talk recording box for about a month now. For no apparent reason it sometimes locks up, the picture is fine, but the remote control will not allow you to change channel, change volume or select a menu option. 

The only way to get it back is to power off and back on, it them seems fine. I've tried a reset and reboot, it happens randomly and for no reason. Any ideas? Thanks for your help.

My independent YouView box has been updated with TalkTalk TV

I switched to TalkTalk ultra fibre optic broadband about 3 weeks ago. I already had an independent YouView box, and did not opt for TalkTalk TV. However, on switching the TV on tonight, it says my software has been updated, and now 'TalkTalk TV' is showing as a heading on everything. WTF? Has TalkTalk updated my inependent box?

I have just done a factory reset of my box as BBC iPlayer and ITV hub stopped working.  They now work but pausing live TV does not work, nor does trying to access teh TalkTalk butoon. All I get is three blue flashing dots that just sit there. I have been given a free month of Sky Cinema and cant watch it. The box is slow and sluggish anyway but now its just getting ridiculous. Is there anything else I can do? Running software DN370T.02.04.P.

Seriously considering going Freesat or Freeview because this box is just getting unusable.

After engineer changed faulty box I now get ttg-239 saying I have a second box but I have not. Please help as talktalk help as not got eney idea.

SD channels pixelating

Just rejoined from BT. Picture quality on HD is excellent - better than with BT - but SD channels are very pixelated for about half an hour. Signal strength is abt 65% and quality initially abt 70%, eventually improving to 100% and then the pixellation has gone.  No such problems with the BT box using the identical arial connections.  Is it just a bad tuner for SD?

Can't set up my boost

Hi there, I've recently joined TT and set up my TV the last couple of days. Everything is working fine apart from I can't get my boost channels. It says I need to set them up but once I type in my details I get the following message:

 

Sorry this isn't available,you could try switching off your talktalk tv box and talktalk broadband router waiting one minute,turning back on and trying again.
If this does not work please try again later.

 

I've tried it various times over the last 48hrs with no success. I've tried rebooting etc. Any suggestions? Thanks

TV switches itself on

If I switch the TV off (to stand-by), but leave the box (DN372T) on, half an hour later the TV will switch on.  This did not happen with the BT box. Any other solution than also switching the YouView box off?

New YouView Box

I have just had my YouView box replaced and it has the new format already installed on it. I have two queries about this:

1. When turning off the box and TV using the remote control, I press the box button and the box turns off (as expected!) but I am having to press the TV button anything up to 12 times to get the TV to turn off. The remote on my previous box only had to be pressed twice to turn the TV off. I have tried the old remote on the new box and it still works with 2 presses.

Is the new one faulty?

2. When the TV/box is switched on, the Menu Bar appears across the bottom of the screen and stays there until it is cancelled. Is there a setting somewhere to stop this appearing in the first place?
